Do you have a book drop?
Yes. The book drop is in the library’s back parking lot. You can drop off returns any time of day. Please do not put donations or trash in the book drop. Please do not overfill the book drop, especially during holiday closures. There are no late fines on the vast majority of library items including books and DVDs.

Do you have a fax machine?
No. Fax services are available at Postal Center USA on 1225 Providence Road in Whitinsville, Uxbridge Public Library and Sutton Public Library.
Do you have meeting rooms?
No. Whitinsville Social Library does not have meeting rooms. There are no private areas in the library. No spaces in the library can be reserved.
The ground floor of the library is WSL’s preferred location for tutoring or two or three person groups on a first-come, first-served basis. Use of speaker phone, audio, and video calls without headphones are not allowed anywhere in the library, including the ground floor. The Childrens Room is not available to tutors or similar meetings unless accompanied by a child under 10.
The Tween & Teen Room is only for middle and high school aged people (ages 9-18) between 2:15 and 4 PM on school days. During that time the ground floor of the library is off-limits to children, tween, and teens unless accompanied by an adult. Thank you for understanding the building’s limitations and allowing tweens and teens to have their own space to study, create, and unwind after school.
How can I sign up for a library card?
Any legal resident of Massachusetts who resides in a city or town with a certified public library can apply for a library card at no charge.
If 18 or over, the applicant must show a photo ID and proof of current address.
A child can be five years old or older to get a library card and a parent or legal guardian must be present at time of application. If under the age of 18, the applicant must have their registration cards signed by a parent or legal guardian and the parent or legal guardian must show a photo ID and proof of current address OR an active CW MARS library card. Parent or legal guardian of a minor assumes responsibility for materials checked out on the child’s card.
Want access sooner? Eligible residents can apply for an eCard. An eCard is a CW MARS library account that patrons can register online for access electronic materials, such as ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and databases. The eCard is for patrons who do not already have a CW MARS library card. eCards need to be upgraded to a physical library card when visiting your local library. Apply for a CW MARS eCard and use it online today.

Where can I park? How else can I get there?
There are four different places you can park when visiting the library.
- The library has a parking lot behind the building with eight parking spots including two handicapped spaces. The elevator is easily accessible from the back door. You can access this lot via the driveway on Church Street or the Village Congregational Church’s parking lot. This lot is maintained by the Town of Northbridge. Please note: overnight parking is not allowed.
- Church Street has free street parking year round. Check the town website for winter weather parking bans.
- The library’s next door neighbor, the Village Congregational Church, allows library patrons to park in their lot as long as a church service is not in session. Please be mindful of any funeral signs. This parking lot is maintained by VCC and we thank them for allowing patrons to park there!
- Free parking lot on Cottage Street behind the Congregational Church and Whitinsville Savings Bank Building and next to the Town Hall Annex.
The closest WRTA bus stop is nearby at the intersection of Church Street and Linwood Avenue. See the schedule here.
